PS4 and Xbox One HDMI port repair.

These consoles have had years of cables going in and out, and the HDMI port is usually the first thing to give up. A no-signal console of this age is very often a mechanical port failure, not a board that has died.

A website request is non-binding. Do not post your device until it has been accepted in writing.

What this fault usually looks like

  • The console starts and makes its normal noises, but the screen stays black.
  • The picture returns briefly if the cable is wiggled or held under tension.
  • The port feels loose in the case or the plug no longer clicks in.
  • Pins inside the connector look bent, pushed back, or missing.
  • The fault began right after the console or cable was knocked.

How the repair is actually done

Every stage is recorded, and nothing beyond the agreed work happens without your written approval.

  1. Confirm the port is the fault

Older consoles can also fail elsewhere on the video path. I check the connector and surrounding board first so you are not paying for a port when the problem is something else.

  2. Remove the damaged connector

The failed port is removed with controlled heat, keeping the pads and anchor points intact so their condition can be judged accurately.

  3. Inspect the pads and traces

Years of strain often lift pads. If reconstruction is needed, you get the count and the price in writing before I go any further.

  4. Fit and test the replacement

The new connector is fitted and the console is display-tested and functionally checked before packing.

What this price does not cover

The limits are published here rather than discovered on your invoice.

  • The listed price assumes the pads under the port are intact. Pad or trace reconstruction is priced separately and always quoted before I continue.
  • Overheating, disc drive and power faults are separate problems with separate prices, even when they appear on the same console.
  • On a console of this age I will tell you honestly if the repair is not worth the money.

Common questions

Is it worth repairing an older console?
Sometimes it is not, and I will say so. If the board shows problems that make the repair poor value next to the price of a replacement console, you get that assessment in writing rather than an invoice.
Do you repair both PS4 and Xbox One models?
Yes. The listed price covers the standard HDMI connector on either, including the slim and revised board layouts, where the pads under the connector are intact.
What happens if the repair cannot be completed?
You are told what was found and what it would take. The published boundary on the price page explains what happens to the charge when a repair cannot be completed.
Should I post my console now?
No. Do not post your device until your request has been accepted in writing and you have received the private postal and packing instructions.
