Legal pack v0.1 was reviewed without amendment. The service address is configured. The final live carrier, insurance, payment, retention and complaint-route details still have to be inserted and tested before repair intake opens.
1. Who provides the service
The service provider is Robert Campbell trading as RMC Device Repairs. The contact email is repairs@rmcdevicerepairs.co.uk.
142 Holbeck Moor RoadLeedsWest YorkshireLS11 9QLMail-in service only — no walk-ins or public drop-offs. Do not post a device until your request has been accepted in writing and you have received the packing instructions.
2. Mail-in service only
RMC Device Repairs is a UK mail-in service. There are no walk-ins or public drop-offs. Do not post a device until I have accepted your website request in writing and supplied the correct address and packing instructions.
3. A website request is not a booking
Submitting the request form is a non-binding request for me to consider the job. The automatic acknowledgement confirms receipt only. It is not acceptance, a booking, an estimate or a repair contract.
4. Inspection, quote and contract formation
After an accepted device arrives, I record it and inspect the reported fault. I then send a written quote setting out the proposed work, parts position, price, known exclusions, return arrangements and the terms that apply. The repair contract forms only when you accept that post-inspection offer.
If inspection or repair uncovers materially different work, I stop and obtain fresh written approval before continuing. You may decline the revised work and ask for the device to be returned, subject to any pre-approved diagnostic or cleaning charge and the return costs described below.
5. Cancellation and early-start requests
Your applicable statutory cancellation information must be supplied in a durable form with the quote and final terms. Where you have a legal cancellation period, work will not begin during it unless you make a separate express request and receive the required information about any consequences of early performance. Final wording and the model cancellation form remain a production launch gate.
6. Prices, payment and VAT
The written quote states the total approved repair price and any separate carriage or replacement-packaging cost. RMC Device Repairs is not VAT registered at launch, so VAT is not added. I invoice after the authorised repair and testing are complete; payment must clear before dispatch. Available payment methods will be stated on the invoice.
If I cannot complete the repair, I do not charge a repair fee. Separately approved strip-down, cleaning or extended diagnostic work, exact return carriage and necessary replacement packaging remain payable.
7. Posting, packing and risk
You arrange and pay for inbound postage after acceptance and must follow the supplied packing guidance and the carrier’s current restrictions. Devices with swollen, punctured, burnt, smoking, unusually hot or otherwise unsafe batteries must not be posted. The final terms must define inbound risk and insurance consistently with the selected carrier and the business’s goods-in-custody and transit cover.
After payment, I arrange tracked and appropriately insured return. You pay the exact return carriage and any necessary replacement-packaging cost; these are shown before dispatch.
8. Parts and authorisation
The quote describes the offered part accurately: manufacturer or service-pack where provenance can be shown, original reclaimed or professionally refurbished, or premium compatible. I do not substitute a materially different part or carry out extra chargeable work without written approval.
9. Device access and data
You should back up important data where possible before posting. The service is not specialist data recovery and no guarantee is made that data can be preserved. If testing genuinely requires access credentials, I request the minimum needed later through a safer channel, explain the test and obtain consent. Credentials are not requested in the website form and are removed after return.
10. Repair warranty and statutory rights
The intended commercial warranty is 90 days on the repaired fault, supplied workmanship and fitted parts. It does not reduce your statutory consumer rights. The final wording will explain remedies and carefully scoped exclusions for later damage, unrelated faults, liquid-damage outcomes, consumable wear, software reinfection or user changes, and devices altered after return.
11. Liability
Nothing in the final terms will exclude or restrict liability where the law does not permit it, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. Any limits for data loss, pre-existing damage, indirect loss and the value or condition of the device must remain aligned with the confirmed insurance position before publication.
12. Devices that are not collected or answered
If you stop responding, I intend to send staged written reminders over a six-month period. Any storage, cost-recovery or disposal step must follow the final reviewed terms and applicable law. This draft gives no automatic right to sell, strip or dispose of a customer’s device.
13. Complaints and governing law
Please follow the complaints process so I can investigate and respond in writing. The final terms must include the correct alternative-dispute-resolution information. Your rights to use the courts and the mandatory consumer protections applying where you live are not displaced by these terms.
